About Me

I started RESEP because I believe that everyone should be reasonably prepared for emergencies or disasters.

My passion for finding a solution to help people is born out of the experiences I had while serving as a United States Air Force Services Specialist.

My extensive experience in field conditions, disaster environments, and missions providing humanitarian services allowed me to see firsthand what happens when a disaster strikes and the problems it can create, especially in areas with large populations. In these situations, the infrastructure and services that we depend on such as utilities, commerce, emergency services, or transportation may not be available.

My Commitment

I will present information to you in a manner which does not ramp up fear and anxiety levels, and that will encourage you and others to become reasonably prepared.

My Goal

My goal is to take a new approach to emergency preparedness and how people think about being prepared.  Over the last 10 years I’ve dedicated my time and energy to research, development, and testing of emergency preparedness kits. I have identified three key elements which I believe are essential for any emergency preparedness kit whether you are making your own or purchasing a pre-package emergency kit. The kits need to be:

  • Affordable
  • Effective and well balanced
  • Easily stored with a small storage footprint

Why I Do What I Do

During my Service, I experienced a variety of extreme natural events including earthquakes, famine, and hurricanes, as well as man-made events such as refugee crises and civil war. Plus, I personally have experienced several extreme events including earthquakes and hurricanes.

As a Services Specialist in the USAF, I was trained in how to prepare and store a variety of fresh, dehydrated, freeze-dried and frozen food rations under normal conditions as well as in field and combat conditions which included the logistics and setup, and operations of portable dwellings.

My training, experience and personal observations made me aware that many people are not reasonably prepared for extreme events that have or will occur again. For most, thinking about and taking action to become prepared is an unpleasant task that no one wants to deal with until they are confronted with an emergency.
